9 WEEKS OLD

Female = top image
Male = bottom image
The chicks are growing nicely now. The male has just started practicing to crow ^_^ and the female has beautiful colouring, perfect for her breed. The only drawback being she has yet to develop a crest!!
...I suspect the eggs were from a poor strain, or that these eggs were not pure bred as the seller claimed!! She is still lovely though, and hopefully she will lay blue/green eggs with any luck.

3 WEEKS OLD

Male = top image
Female = bottom image
At 3 weeks the chicks first feathers were starting to come through ^_^ the male is a barred grey colour and the girl almost has partridge coloring in shades of brown. The male is also developing a nice crest on his head.

6 DAYS OLD

Female = left
Male = right

SEXINGS CREAM LEGBAR CHICKS

WATCH VIDEO OF CHICKS

Sexing Cream Legbar chicks should be relatively straight forward. Males should be a paler (blonde) shade with pale markings and with a distinctive blonde 'spot' on their head (chick on left). Females will generally be a darker shade with definate dark stripes running from the top of their heads and down their backs. Females also have what I like to call 'Egyptian' eye markings ^_^ which are dark stripes running from the edges of their eyes (just like Cleopatra).

SECOND HATCH

The second chick hatched a good half a day after the first, despite this egg being the smallest!

It seems as though we have one male and one female chick (sadly we wont be able to keep the male but we will raise him alongside the female as a companion).

FIRST HATCH

One of the eggs hatched during the night! We woke up to find a very confused chick laying on its back flapping like mad ^_^

...no signs from the other egg though :(

DAY 20

THE EGGS ARE PIPPING!...well one of them at least ^_^

There is a tiny hole poking through one of the eggs and if you listen closely you can hear little cheeps!!
